M.I.A. Does “Straight to Hell”

Just wanted to mention, M.I.A. does brilliant stuff around a sample from The Clash’s “Straight to Hell” in her new song “Paper Planes” (from the upcoming Kala), which I was able to hear thanks to a link at All Things Go.  In my opinion, this is even better than what she does around the Pixies’ “Where is My Mind” in her other new song, “$20.”  (By the way, Nerd Litter had a great YouTube video of her doing that song at Studio B, though it’s disappeared already.  But there are still nice stills up here, as well as links to mp3s of “Boyz” and “XR2.”)

But, anyway, I also wanted to remind people that this is not an M.I.A. fan blog.  Really!
