Yes, expect reviews or at least (more) clips soon from these two movies. I am quite pleased that I got them!
1. Amar Deep (1958), directed by T. Prakash Rao, music by C. Ramchandra, starring Dev Anand, Vyjayanthimala, Padmini, Pran, Johnny Walker… Oh, this looks so good! I’ve already seen the Padmini clips (and posted one a while back) and they were wonderful. The plot also looks quite interesting. I’ve gotten to appreciate all the male actors who are in this one, and as for the two actress-dancers…well, everybody should know by now how I feel about them. If I don’t just love this one, I’ll be surprised (and disappointed).
2. Tere Mere Sapne (1971), directed and produced by Vijay Anand, music by S.D. Burman, starring Dev Anand, Mumtaz, Hema Malini, Jayshree T., Prem Nath, Tabassum… Some people out there have given this high praises, and I believe them. I’ve also already greatly enjoyed some of the dance scenes. I’ve posted the Jayshree T. dance, one of my favorite clips from the ’70s (with excellent music, by the way). And the rest of the cast are pretty good too (aren’t they?) Looking forward to this!
P.S. I could be taking this blog on a new approach to movie reviewing: Write about movies when I get them but haven’t seen them yet, or write about them while I’m watching them, but never really get around to reviewing them after I’ve seen them (?!). That would set me apart from all you review bloggers out there, but hopefully, it’s not going to end up completely that way.
